Hyla faculty and students enjoyed three days of mini-term last Wednesday through Friday. This year’s mini-term in honor of Earth Day, “Celebrating the Earth”, kicked off with a walk down to Lynnwood Center to watch “The Ballad of Thoreau” and an inspiring concert by songwriter and activist Dana Lyons.

The school split into six groups exploring topics that the students selected for this year: endangered species, energy, forests, organic gardening, local foods and water pollution.  The school came back together on Friday afternoon to share what had been learned and offer suggestions for the Hyla community.  It was an inspiring afternoon.
